“I find the sharing of ideas extremely beneficial! Besides the stated objectives, I found new ways to integrate cross curriculum information that I can put to immediate use.”
– “Lesson Design to Increase Student Learning and Achievement”
Cascade Middle School, Auburn School District

"As usual, Judee is very clear, to the point and invites challenging comments and questions. I love her energy and common sense approach; that "common sense" is the result of experience, careful research and analysis of sound data. To have the patterns, structures and procedures in play to SUSTAIN change is critical for all of us. I deeply appreciate the dialogue about the personal and organizational meaning of change. Judee is an excellent presenter who has a wealth of knowledge and understanding that is valuable to educators involved in the process of change. I now have some great tools to use in working with staff and students! The handouts were thorough, clear and will be very useful! I would like all of our administrative team to go through this professional development."
– "Dealing With Conflict in Times of Change"
Project Leadership - WASA

“Practical ideas that will work; it is a fast pace that works for me with a great deal of information and learning strategies packed into a short time frame. This is information I can and will use and share with my colleagues!! This session worked for me!”
- "Help for Struggling Math Students grades 3-12: Getting to AYP…PDQ"
AWSP Professional Development Conference

“Change can be challenging; we now have many tools to assist us. Managing and survival skills are critical for leaders to deal with the constant element of change. Change is one of the biggest challenges facing us. This topic pervades every collaborative conversation among administrative colleagues. The content was excellent; Judee has some good wisdom. Her school-based background gave her comments the connection to “real work” that presentations like this sometimes lack, Judee is always well prepared and ready to answer questions. The focus on interventions with those who are resistant or who sabotage was especially useful. Judee has research-based information to share that is entertaining as well. I feel rejuvenated from this session.”
– “Without Change, There Will Be No School Improvement”
Project Leadership, WASA

“Ideas were so practical such as students need to have background knowledge and additional experiences to connect to new learning to enhance comprehension. A simple form of performance assessment is for them just to explain or re-tell in a different way what they have read. Judee also reinforced the need and importance of teaching vocabulary in context. The before, during and after reading strategies are very helpful and especially for my struggling readers. Homework to extend learning and build background knowledge and experiences is an excellent idea. I like the idea of using virtual experiences and video streaming to build and support student understanding and that it can be as effective as actual experiences. Our time was worthwhile and I thoroughly enjoyed all that Judee presented. Today validated my personal educational beliefs and biases!"
- “Increasing Student Achievement in Reading”
Daniel Elementary School - Kent School District

“Our test scores have been flatline for over ten years. Student demographics are 96 percent free and reduced lunch and 92 percent second language learners (Hispanic). Prior to this new school year, 68 percent of our teachers left our school each year making increasing student achievement difficult. All of that has now changed. Our new test scores indicate a 30 percent growth rate in math and a 10 percent growth rate in reading; the staff is thrilled and ready for even greater gains. Our focused instructional strategies made the difference!”
Principal, Clark County Schools - Las Vegas, NV
